ABOUT
DoomedWorlds is a personal website and portfolio of mine, where I intend to showcase and share several personal projects that I've got casually cooking.
Here you might find several fictional and illustrated worlds I have created for mostly my own use or as part of my hobbies. My overall aim is to create compelling and immersive works, or as immersive as I can possibly make them with my current skill-set.
My wish is to one day work full-time with my projects, and to possibly become a proper writer, artist, and a perhaps even a game designer. Thusly, I hope to set this website as an example of my works.
This site is not meant to be the catalyst and medium for something new or world-changing, nor am I actively trying to make any profound statements with my works.
I simply hope that people might enjoy my worlds and projects, and that my worlds are worth exploring. Depending on your personal preferences, some of my worlds and projects might not be for you, and that's of course entirely fine too.
AUTHOR
My name is Daniel.

Sometimes I go by the name of 'Levodoom' as my internet persona.
I was born in 1990, Norway, and I started off creating worlds first when I was around 10-12 years old, when I sat down to draw various amateurish maps of lands and continents that pretty much only existed in my own head.

In 2010, I went to 'Sunnhordland Folkehøgskule' to study Game Design for a year, where I realized that what I wanted to do with my life, was to create worlds for people to explore and go on adventures in. Not long after, in 2013, I entered NITH in Oslo to further study Game Design for another three years.

I have always been a massive fan of video games, ever since I first tried out a game about visiting an aquarium on the good old Windows 95 PC when I was around four or five, and I have since remained extremely fond of games for the majority of my life. I particularly enjoy RPGs and Strategy games, but I will generally play whatever, and especially games filled with amazing and intriguing lore and world-building.

I mainly take up an interest in working on writing, general design, and graphics, and I continue to practice so that I can further hone my skills to create compelling and immersive worlds. I consider myself to be quite decent at making maps, but I also want to learn how to create a larger variety of different art.

As far as world-building goes, it is a hobby that I enjoy a lot. The whole process of coming up with ideas and adapting those ideas into worlds is not only something I find adequately cathartic, but a welcome challenge as I often need to consider how everything fits together.

Most of all I just enjoy creating maps, and filling those maps with places, cultures, and environments, and seeing how they all fit together on paper. It is how I began my world-building journey, and how my interest in making worlds originally grew. I really like sharing my worlds, and using maps was originally the best medium for me.

I do dearly love all my worlds, and seeing them grow from slivers of ideas into expansive universes is the best part for me, even if the process can be very, very slow sometimes, and some of my worlds can get stuck in-between my moments of focus and interest.
